And The Winner Is ....
Current mood:
accomplished

I
forgot to mention this, but I guess it bears notice:
The
photo contest I have entered does not offer a huge cash prize,
nor
very much in the way of "recognition". It is, however,
the FIRST
competition of this type. that I have ever participated in.
To me, it is not about winning, but just (finally)
having the brass to
put something out there, to risk being compared,
criticized, and judged
by peers. That's the obstacle I have jumped over, now.
It
does not matter if my photo wins ... that shot is two
years old, and
I am doing MUCH better work, now, anyway!
I "won", the very instant I pressed the
"submit" button.
I
hope you know how much I appreciated everyone's opinions and
feedback!
Teaparty
was a popular
choice among the older crowd.
Everyone
liked the funny expressions, but there were issues
about the blurred hand, and a couple of people
mentioned the seeming lack of interaction between
these two cuties.
|
Boy
and Bull got about the same number of votes
as the other two photos, and was
almost unanimously second
choice for those who liked one
of the other shots better.
Again,
some people observed
an absence of interaction between these two.
|
Buddies
is my personal favorite, because I happen to love the
subject. To a dog person, there is no friendship to
surpass the unconditional acceptance of a dog.
The
photo quality was by far
the best of the three.
I
rejected this photo only because
I felt that the subject "Friends" called for
a human element.
|
Right
after I posted the blog with three photos, I received a
private message
suggesting that while the choices were
"good", "better"
would be something
candid, and showing more interaction between the
subjects. The sender suggested
looking through my old folders to find
"outtakes". It seemed like a good idea
to me,
and I almost immediately thought this photo, taken
last year: |
|
I
like this picture a lot!

|
I
like it even better in black-and-white:
 |
|
I
rejected it mainly because the photo quality wasn't just
right. |
My
photo entry has been made, and here is my choice:
