Now,
hay grows long in the fields,
fruit ripens on the tree
as the quickening days
whisper of harvest time
soon to be.
All of life is in a hurry
to complete summer's mission:
produce!
Produce for the harvest.
Harvest and gather for the winter.
Winter waits for spring,
and the cycle of the wheel turns.
Here, we are connected to the Earth
in ways not even imagined by
civilized society.
We drink the air and taste the
wind;
the scent of sage and cedar
hail precious rain,
but rarely.

July came and went, it seems, while I was wrapped up in
"retro-vations" on the Cherry
Street Gallery. That being accomplished -- to a reasonable degree --
Dog Days promise to focus more on capturing what remains of Summer
'08.

There was nothing for it, but to bring down the old
dingy wallpaper. Fresh paint to cover the cracked and damaged underlying
aqua plasterboard of the 1950's will soon get fresh paper, similar in
style to the original. Thanks to technology, the replacement paper will
be washable, and well pasted.
In the parlor, one aqua wall will remain as a reminder
of that era, that period in the life of this old house, and Mrs.
Cooley's time here.

today!
That little item that most people take for granted, but
that represents a gigantic leap forward.

Photography seems to be on the back burner temporarily, as work on
the little gallery consumes my time and energy, lately. The little old
house requires much attention before she will be ready to entertain
guests.
Yet, progress is being made daily, and soon the doors will open
officially. In the meantime, if you happen to be visiting historic old
Cherry Creek, I hope you will drop by and check it out!
